El Bulli. 2014

Innovation project for this Catalan famous chef. Engineers hacked the Kinect software to use it as a cocking tool for teaching.

Problem to solve

The problem to solve here was to provide a teaching tool, in a kitchen academy context  just using hands gestures and voice control, allowing students and mentors to concentrate on the real kitchen pots.

My role

• Conduct research and create design interactions patterns, specially looking for natural gestures in order to create an innovative user interface.

• Interviews with some of the chefs and stakeholders from the restaurant
• Card shorting activity to find the best way to show the content (IA)
• User testing with a prototype

Achievement

• We were able to integrate the entire recopies book in the user interface, so users could navigate thought the different categories
• We presented the product to Telefonica and El Bulli leadership
